What makes Unshelf Design Consignment Boutique successful? 

We sell the majority of our consigned items as part of professionally styled vignettes. These designer-styled and professionally photographed decor bundles are curated from various consigners to create complementary styling vignettes. These vignettes make interior decorating appealing for buyers, meaning your items sell for more than they would on their own.


Here’s how it works

Step 1

Decor Consultation & Drop Off

Walk-ins welcome, appointments recommended. Bring your decor, artwork, and accessories to our store – 3411 8th street SE, Calgary.

Items are chosen for consignment based on condition, style, and trend-factor.

*Complimentary donation of decor not selected.

Step 2

Cataloguing & Pricing

Unshelf Design records all consigned items under the client’s file, along with consignment agreement

Unshelf Design sets the price considering age, condition, and current market trends/demand.


Step 3

Vignette Styling

Unshelf Design will curate complementary items into styled vignettes to sell as a professionally designed styling bundle.

These vignettes are curated from multiple consignors.


Step 4


Professional photos will be taken of styled vignettes and added to the website on the ‘styled vignettes’ shop page. Items will be added to the retail floor as space becomes available.

Unshelf Design will share photos of styled vignettes on social media, marketplace, and other buy/sell groups and websites.


Step 5

Sale Etransfer / Credit

Once sold, Unshelf will e-transfer consignor 40% of sale price of each item sold at the end of each month, upon request.

Consignor has the option to not withdraw funds and keep 100% of earnings PLUS an additional 5% as store credit.


*If an item does not sell within 60 days of consignment, it will be donated on your behalf.

Prior to calling Unshelf Design for consignment consultation, please ensure that your decor, artwork, and accessories meet the requirements below and that there are at least 10 suitable pieces available for pickup. If what you are consigning will fill multiple large boxes that may not fit in a standard SUV, please let us know in advance so we may bring a trailer.

  • Clothing, Fashion accessories, Backpacks/Purses, Shoes
  • Books
  • Items that are stained, cracked, ripped, frayed, broken, have smells, or are greasy/dirty
  • Linens & Bedding
  • Musical instruments

All consigners will need to sign a consignment agreement prior to our consignment consultation. When you book a pickup you will be sent a digital agreement. I have also attached a PDF here for you to review prior to booking.
